UAB Valstybės Investicinis Kapitalas CEO Vaidas Daktariūnas met with Lithuanian Vice-Minister of National Defence Orijana Mašalė and her team to discuss the financing needs of the defence industry as well as the prospects for its development.
During the meeting, Vice-Minister Mašalė shared both planned and ongoing infrastructure projects in the fields of defence and national security. Today’s geopolitical situation necessitates the search for various defence projects and infrastructure financing opportunities, with security becoming one of the most pressing issues in Europe.
UAB Valstybės Investicinis Kapitalas presented its activities as a state-owned investment company and shared its experience in financing one of the largest defence industry projects in Lithuania – Rheinmetall Defence Lietuva.
The discussion also covered opportunities for cooperation and potential financing solutions that contribute to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and security. The capital market and its financial resources have thus far been underutilised in investing in profitable defence projects. However, investors are increasingly focused on security, prompting collective efforts to find the most optimal financing solutions.
